SEEN Launches New Initiatives to Encourage Senior Men to Get Active

Where have all the men gone? Most of the active participants at Active Ageing Centre (AAC) are women. Our reporter took a closer look and found that beyond physical limitations and a reluctance to head out, some men also feel hesitant about stepping into spaces dominated by women. Hear their perspectives in the video, and share it to help encourage more men to get active.

Many Active Ageing Centred (AAC) in the local area have a disproportionately high number of female members, with older men accounting for just 30 per cent of the total. While many retired men prioritise their health, they rarely take part in such activities. Why is this? As the population ages, health and preventative care are becoming increasingly important. This year, Tzu Chi Seniors Engagement & Enabling Node (SEEN) is launching a new initiative to attract more men to participate.
